Autumn.... Fall foliage and Vermont are synonymous, and the Smugglers' Notch Area, home to Vermont's highest mountain, Mt. Mansfield, hosts some of the most colorful displays, year after year. The best way to find color at its peak is to ask the locals, and no matter where you are in the state, most experts' first suggestion will be "Route 108 through the Notch". A wonderful peak foliage tour winds through Smugglers' Notch, along Pleasant Valley Road and the many back roads in the hills above Cambridge, Jeffersonville, and Johnson, east along the Lamoille River, and up towards Craftsbury Common.

But rest assured, an aimless wander along unknown roads, even a trip to the grocery store, provides brilliant fall foliage that even old timers have to stop and admire. We're in the heart of it, and you can't miss it. Come to Vermont, and enjoy one of nature's most impressive displays.
